Thanks for visiting my Web site. You know the old saying, "I don't have the face for television but, maybe, a voice for radio?" Well, truth of the matter, I don't even have a voice for radio so I guess I will just have to talk to you with the keyboard! So, here goes.
I have spent a lifetime in graphic arts, publication, teaching and so many other things, I don't want to bore you with the whole enchilada. But, I will take some of your time and talk about those things that I really enjoy.
I was reared in West Texas by wonderful parents just ahead of a great brother. He and I are totally different but quite alike in many ways. We stay in contact as closely as is possible considering the distance we live apart. I attended Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas and have a degree in Commercial Art. Later in life I studied at the University of Colorade in Library Science and Early Childhood Development. Not really fit but those are the facts!
A couple of years in the US Army as a Radio Operator followed college, which was the real finalisation of my education. Several years in the USNR finished up my military obligation. By the way, I ended up an a radio operator because one of many hobbies, or pastimes, was amateur radio. Call sign is W5OCR but I am not very active nowadays, even though I am still interested.
In addition to "ham" radio, I am interested and active in flying (got a Private Pilot's License), models (not the female kind although that is also interesting), sailing, soaring, computers, woodworking, pottery, motorcycles, sports cars ... and many others. By the way, my Dad and I built a Mechanics Illustrated (MI Special) a few years ago. The MI Special is an adaptation of the Pietenpol "Air Camper," a very popular home-built of the 'Thirties." Someone said to me once that the old expression that describes "jack of all trades but master of none!" fits me to a "T". Incidentally, I once owned a Harley Davidson 'Hummer' 125cc cycle like shown in the ad. Man, would I like to have one of buggers today for 17 bucks a month!
Harley Davidson Hummer 125 AdI think the best way to present myself to anyone that is interested is to make this My Page a continually changing, constantly updated chronicle of what I like to do. I love to build HTML pages and will find myself making changes to this page as long as it is appropriate!
Please don't think that is just a 'brag' page but, in fact, it is designed to open up some discussion of several areas of interest. I hope you will send me an eMail if you find anything here close to your particular hobbies or endeavors. As I said before, I will be adding to this page as time goes on and would welcome any comments. Thanks for looking at my Web site.
